COST Countries
In total, 36 COST countries (35 member states and one cooperating state) govern COST. In addition, non-COST country institutions are welcome to participate in the COST programme.
The 36 COST Countries are listed below. They play an important role in the governance of COST
A cooperating state implies non-voting membership in the COST Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) and in the Domain Committees as well as full member rights on Action level.
COST has also signed reciprocal agreements with Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina. This means European scientists can work with other researchers in these regions and increase international collaboration.
